CHINESE SHAR PEI NAMES
The Chinese Shar Pei
The Chinese Shar Pei is a very distinct breed, due to the fact that it
looks like its skin is too big for its body. This is
especially true when the dogs are puppies. Like its name
implies, the Chinese Shar Pei originated in China and the American
Kennel Club finally accepted the breed in 1991.
Unfortunately, the Chinese Shar Pei can suffer from problems resulting
from breeding, such as a painful eye condition in which the eyelashes
turn toward the eye (if left uncared for, this condition will most
surely cause blindness) and excessive wrinkling of the skin even when
the Shar Pei is an adult. The Chinese Shar Pei can also
suffer from uncomfortable and even painful skin itchiness and skin
sores. Because of this, the breed often has to be given
special medications and antihistimines to make the dog more
comfortable.

If one is willing to care for the Chinese Shar Pei
