MINIATURE PINSCHER
NAMES
The Miniature Pinscher
Considered the "king" of the toy dog breed, the MiniaturePinscher
resembles a full-grown, adult Doberman Pinscher, however, the breeds
are only related by distant ancestors. The Miniature Pinscher
stands no more than 10-12 inches tall and weighs barely 10
pounds. The breed can have several different coat colors,
such as red, brown, or tan, however, the most popular and most
recognized coat color is all black with tan markings around the eyes,
muzzle and feet.

MiniaturePinschers make poor lap dogs or companions
to children due to
the fact that most dogs of this breed bark excessively and can be very
excited and rowdy. Proper training can keep such behavior
under
control and to a minimum, however, it is not wise to own a Miniature
Pinscher if there are young children in the home or the owner is
desiring a quiet, calm companion. Although Miniature
Pinschers are
easy to groom due to their short, shiny coats, they are considered
overeaters and their diet must be watched carefully to prevent
obesity. It is also important to keep small objects out of
the dog's
reach, as it will chase and eat the object as if it were a rat or
mouse. For the right person, a Miniature Pinscher would make
a loyal
friend.
