YORKSHIRE TERRIER NAMES
Yorkshire Terriers
The Yorkshire Terrier is a toy dog that holds its origins in Yorkshire,
England. It is difficult to know for sure precisely what dog
breeds were used in its creation, but it is believed that the Yorkshire
Terrier was intended for catching small vermin, such as rats and mice.
The Yorkshire has a long, bluish and tan coat that hangs straight and
parts down the middle. Their hair is soft, silky, fine, and
extremely high-maintenance. Their coat must either be cut very short or
washed and brushed almost daily. They are generally
intelligent, independent and spunky with the males being especially
territorial, and sometimes attack without regard to their small
size. They are small and easily injured, so its best not to
have one around small children. Unfortunately, purebred
Yorkshire Terriers also suffer from genetic disorders like many other
purebreds. Liver shunt is the most common and is
characterized by small stature, behavioral abnormalities, poor muscle
development, seizures, unresponsiveness, etc. Hypoglycemia
occurs sometimes in puppies and they will seem limp and lifeless, it's
gums and tongue usually grayish blue in color. Hypoglycemia
is serious disorder and death can occur if the case is severe, unless
properly diagnosed and cared for immediately.
